EES Facility Services Story

EES Facility Services was started in 1967 as DesignAire, Inc. to design, sell, and maintain heating, ventilating, and dehumidifying equipment. In 1968, the company became a dealer for the Trane Company, and in 1972, the name and incorporation changed to DesignAire Trane Air Conditioning Company. Tom Miske, a mechanical engineer and salesman for Trane, purchased the company and was named president in 1973.

As the industry evolved, EES evolved with it. DesignAire Trane established its Commercial Division in 1976. In 1984, the company name was formally changed to Environmental Engineering Systems, Inc. The new name highlighted their engineering focus and their ability to work with all kinds of equipment manufacturers. In the 1990s, EES expanded further into building automation and controls, helping customers improve system visibility, operational efficiency, and long-term facility performance. In 2009, Environmental Engineering Systems, Inc. began doing business as EES Facility Services.

Built on a commitment to quality workmanship, responsive service, and long-term customer relationships, the company steadily expanded alongside the growing needs of its customers in the Southwest Ohio region. Today, EES Facility Services is still family-owned and operated by Eric Miske, who joined the company in 1995. EES continues to provide commercial and industrial HVAC service, mechanical construction, retrofits, building automation, controls integration, and engineering support for facilities throughout Southwest Ohio. With dedicated service, controls, construction, and engineering departments under one roof, EES delivers practical solutions designed to improve reliability, reduce downtime, and support long-term operational success. More than 60 years after its founding, EES continues to build on the values that started the company: responsive service, technical expertise, safety, teamwork, and a commitment to solving complex facility challenges for the customers and communities it serves.
